Well hello blog world! I finally have internet so I can start a blog. Here's an update on The Hess Family life.... Ty got home from his mission in December 2009, we got engaged on December 31st and were married on May 6th, 2010. It was the best day ever! We had an outside reception and of course it snowed! It was actually REALLY pretty with the snow because my colors were white, all colors of pink, and silver. So it looked really cool. I will post the pics from the wedding when I get more time to figure all this out! Haha. We went on a 10 day honeymoon; our wedding night was at The Anniersary Inn in the Swiss Family Robinson room (which was so fun!). We then went to Park City at my Aunt Nancy's condos that she manages, we stayed there for 3 days, it was so romantic and laid back. After 3 days, we were off to Long Beach for a 5 night cruise to the Mexican Baja. It was fun but I would not recommend Carnival to anyone. (We just went with them cus it was cheap!) After the honeymoon it was back to real life! Earlier in March 2010 we bought a townhouse! I never thought that I would be a home-owner at such a young age, but it was actually way cheaper than renting anything and we absolutely love our house. We live in Ogden in a townhouse. Our house is 1300 sq ft, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bath, laundry room, 2 car garage, etc. So we have tons of space which is so nice! In August last year we added an addition to our family and got a dog. Her name is Hershey and she's a Llhasa Apso (kinda like a Shi Tzu). She is very energetic and most of the times gets on my nerves, but I am started to have more patience with her. Tyler is great with her and so at least she has a friend. Haha. Recently my father-in-law, Larry, taught her how to sit, stay, lay down, and jump up. Then right after that, Ty taught her to jump up and dance. It's nice to see that she can actually learn tricks if you take the time. We just don't have very much time to spend with her because we are always so busy! She is a fun little addition though and we love her (most of the time). Larry also made her a darling dog house because we moved her into the garage yesterday, she loves it! Right now I am working in Roy as a Dental Assistant at Lakeview Dental, I have been there for 3 years now and it a very busy office which I am thankful for! Tyler started school and is now in his Sophomore year. He is studying Athletic Therapy, which he will get his bachelor's in and then he wil hopefully get in to the University of Utah's physical therapy program, it is now a docterate degree, so it will be challenging but very worth it! Ty has been doing great in school, he got a 4.0 last semester and is looking to get close to that again this semester. He is attending Weber State and has a football scholarship. Last year he red-shirted, so technically he is a Freshman football player. He works very hard and is working his way up the totem pole! This last year in January we went to Cancun for a week with my family as our Christmas present, it was SO fun, we were able to swim with dolphins, snorkel, lay out, relax, pig out, anything you can think of. It was such a fun trip and I hope me and Ty can get back there soon! We also just got back from a very fun trip to California. Tyler's borther Trevor and his wife Ashley live in Anaheim where Ashley works at Disneyland! It was so much fun. We stayed at their house and on my birthday, (March 16th) we spent he day at Disneyland. It was fun but very tiring! We did the both Disneyland and California Adventure in one day from 8:30 am until 11:30pm. So yes a very long day. Some of our fav things there were Space Mountain, Bug's Life 3D, Toy Story Mania, California Screamin', Soarin Over California & Tower of Terror. Well Ty hated Tower of Terror, he was screaming like a little girl. Haha. The next day we went to a park in Irvine that has a huge helium balloon that goes up 400ft in the air that you can ride it, it was really cool, kinda scary but very cool. Tyler was a little chicken and wouldn't even stand up, it was so funny! He is such a tough guy but when it comes to heights, he just can't handle it. After the balloon ride, we got lunch and went to Newport Beach, the water was freezing! It made me really miss Cancun water! But it was really fun, all except for the part when I face-planted into the sand after attempting to skim board. Haha. It was a good laugh though! The next day we drove to Universal Studios and spent the day there. Our fav things there were King Kong 3D, The Simpson's ride& Shrek 4D. After that it was on our way home! It was a very fun trip and we are so thankful to Trev and Ash for letting us invade their apartment for a few days! Right now life is normal, work and school consume our lives most of the time. We always have time for family though. We love living close to our families and are usually back in Tremonton on the weekends. My brother Hunter who is a Senior, is playing baseball right now and is so fun to watch. Katelyn, a freshman, just made cheerleader at Bear River and it is SO crazy to think that she will be in high school next year. It feels like I just barely left high school, but it's actually been 4 years!! Time flies! Hannah is 11 and is a little cutie pie, she always has funny things to say! Lindsay and Robert have their hands full with sweet little Drake, my nephew, who is the cutest baby in the whole world. I miss him so much when I don't get to see him. He makes me want to have a baby so much, but for now I will just have to get my baby hunger out on him! He really is the sweetest and best baby. Ty's sister Kim is going to be a senior next year which is crazy, she is so fun to hang out with and just recently had her Junior prom, which I got her ready for and she looked gorgeous! Both of our parents I'm sure are having fun watching all their children grow up. I am so thankful for both of our families. We wouldn't be anywhere near where we are today if it wasn't for them. Well now that I've posted this huge post, you know what Ty and I have been up to! Tune in for more adventures....!

Hello.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute post Stac! I'm so excited you have a blog now. YAY!!!! I can't believe how skinny Tyler was when he first got home from his mission. Also, looking at the picture of us at your wedding makes me so sad. I took that pink dress into the dry cleaners after your wedding and when I went back to pick it up about a month later, the dry cleaner had closed down and no one knows where they went. So the dress is gone forever- sad! I loved it! Keep posting!!!
That is so stupid!!!! That dress was so cute! That is sad. Do you not have a number or anything? Crazy. I know Ty was way skinny, but he looks better with a little meat on his bones:)
